Sculptures
My sculptures are made of ceramic with glazed and painted finishes. I am currently working on sculptures entitled the Anna Maria series. Anna Maria was Antonio Vivaldi’s star students and the series represents my ideas of what she might have looked like getting ready to play her violin. The series represents the lightness and movement of Baroque music. The sculptures are getting taller and so far there are eleven Anna Maria sculptures. I am perfecting my technique for painting these sculptures. It involves layers of pure paint which is greatly watered down. Each sculpture has between 7 and 15 layers of paint. I am adapting a technique that I learned from studying with watercolor master Charles Reid.

Photographs
I am currently working on a new set of photographic images entitled 2015 Water,Ropes and Rust. For many years as I have traveled, I have been passionate about capturing the uniquely artistic things found around harbors throughout the world. I photograph peeling paint, rust, buoys, ropes, chains, and fishing boats and gear. I capture light and shadows around these objects. This interest in Marine images comes from a deep love of the ocean and all it has to offer. I grew up spending time every summer on the coast of Southern California.

Watercolors
My water colors start with contour and quick gesture drawings using graphite. I then paint using bright colors and mixing very little on the palate to retain a colorful and lively feeling that about capturing the moment.

Indigo Mono Prints
For several months now I have been working on a series on mono prints. Some have been on paper and some have been on canvas which has been textured and painted with a palette knife with acrylic paint. I then make a print on this canvas with either ink or blue acrylic paint. With this series, I am striving to capture classical subjects but depict them in a contemporary way that appeals to the modern eye. The texture on the canvas shows through the prints creating another level of interest. The prints themselves are always changing as I try different types of materials trying to create what I see in my mind.

Stronghold Design
The vision for the Stronghold is a Spanish Revival House from the 1920s. We are infuenced by our travels and have brought back many items that we have integrated into the design of the house including lights from Morocco and a door knocker and fountain spigot from Rome. Most of the tile was shipped from Mexico.
